DIY Rustic Engagement Party

Last year my sister got engaged while I was away in New York and she and her then fiance had a little party at a bar with their friends. Not content to miss anything I insisted she needed ANOTHER party (which I would throw myself), for all of our family and our family friends. She agreed... and I began tracking down every Hobby Lobby in the Tri-State area.

The brief: Rustic, elegant, floral, vintage

My sister has great taste. And as this was the first official event of her wedding I wanted it to set the tone. This is what I went with:

Food:

  1. Tea sandwhiches in a rustic wooden tray

  2. White chocolate macaron tower

  3. Chocolate dipped strawberry and marshmallow tower

  4. Cream cheese frosted cupcakes in a tower

  5. Ombre Chocolate and oreo gems with gold leaf

  6. 5 tier vanilla bean swiss meringue butter cream cake

  7. White chocolate mousse pots with raspberry and edible flowers

  8. Chocolate orange cake pops

  9. Vintage paper wrapped milk chocolate bars

  10. Vanilla marshmallows

  11. White chocolate lollies

Decorations:

  1. Metallic rose gold Love balloon - Hobby Craft

  2. White pompoms - Michael's

  3. Vases - pickle jars with hessian wrap and 'Love' ribbon tied round it - Hobby Craft

  4. MrandMrs sign - Hobby Lobby

  5. L and T paper letters - Michael's

  6. Wooden tray - Hobby Lobby

  7. Cupcake wraps - Amazon

  8. Muted toned flowers by my local highstreet florist - 1 garland and 2 vases

  9. Marshmallow jar - LSA

  10. Mousse pots - eBay

  11. Vinatge chocolate bar paper - Amazon

  12. Vintage Tea Cups - belonged to my Great Grandparents

I got most of this stuff from Hobby craft , Hobby Lobby and from Amazon online, so all these items are really easy to come by and on the whole pretty inexpensive! Although I did this set up for an engagement party this theme would suit so many other occasions perfectly. Think baby shower, birthday, or anniversary...

Got an event to plan? Try some of these ideas! I would love to know how you get on.
