133 days of Rome
I would feel comfortable saying that EVERYTHING has changed since my last post! Aside from the fact I am now healthy and in possession of my own flat keys once again, I have also landed my self a pretty exciting job that will start next week. Its a legal internship in the Legal Office of the United Nations WFP. This UN instrument was established to eliminate hunger and food insecurity across the globe and I am so thrilled to be able to use the things I have learned at Goldman Sachs and in my career so far to help such a worthy organisation. Its also pretty wild that all those hours I spent training for and doing Model United Nations competitions at school have been proved to be well spent. I always wanted to be involved in the UN somehow and I'm so blown away by actually having the chance to whilst I'm here enjoying this amazing city. I am fully in love with Rome at this point and am in a fairly serious and committed relationship with pasta. Alas, I have to cut this post short as I need to go and get ready to go out tonight! I am meeting some international gal pals at my favourite cosy lounge bar in Monti called Black Market. I have been there so many times now I think the bar staff are starting to get concerned, but its an amazing spot for having a good chat over some live music and the yummiest cocktails I have sampled so far in Rome. There is one that tastes like a Mcdonalds banana milkshake just because the rum has been infused with vanilla and banana! SO. Aperitivo awaits me patiently and I have to go, but not before I give a shout out to the one and only Granny Audrey who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow! Happy Birthday Granny, I may be making some great friends over here but you are still my number one gal! Love you a zillion.
